Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 19:14

OVERVIEW

The vision of Renewal Kids is to partner with parents to reach and to raise the next generation for the Lord. We feel honored to journey with children on this great adventure!

We will accomplish this by:

  • Giving all children who come through our doors the opportunity to know and understand the Gospel and to enter into an active relationship with Jesus.

  • Creating an environment in which our children can experience the love of God and love for others.

  • Partnering with parents – the most important influence in a child’s life – to equip our children with tools they need to live a fulfilled, giving, and joyous life through worship, Bible study, and lessons on Christian living.

YOUR VISIT

If you have a child under 12 months of age, they are welcome into the Worship Center! We have reserved seating for parents with strollers, as well as a private nursing area in the back. Changing tables are also available in the restrooms.

For children 12 months old – 5th grade, Renewal Kids happens each week concurrent with our 10 AM Sunday worship service. Head straight to our Renewal Kids check-in area where one of our Kids Volunteers will meet your family and get your kids registered and checked in. Your child will be given a name tag and you will be given a matching pick-up ticket that you must present to the volunteers to check your child out at the end of service. We want to make sure that you don’t miss a thing, so we recommend arriving 15 minutes before the service begins.

If you have a child in middle school or high school, check out our Youth page for more information!

EXPLORERS

12 MONTHS – 2.5 YEARS

The goal of our Nursery is to provide a safe, Christ-centered, nurturing, and clean environment for your children. Our volunteers will play, listen to music, and read with your child. We believe that these little explorers can begin to experience the love of Jesus through others!

At drop-off on Sunday:

  • Please make sure your child’s diaper is changed before drop off and that your child’s items, bottles, cups, etc. are clearly labeled.

  • We serve baby puffs during snack time. If your child has any food allergies, please let the volunteers know!

DISCOVERERS

2.5 YEARS – 5 YEARS

The goal of our Toddler & Preschool class is to provide a loving environment that is safe and God-centered. We believe that young children can begin to discover who Jesus is in a fun and creative way. We start with a Bible story time and do age-appropriate activities and crafts. We will also teach them fun worship songs! At this age, kids start to learn what it means to love God and one another!

At drop-off on Sunday:

  • Come prepared for class with a bottle of water/milk/etc. and a trip to the bathroom before class begins.

  • Any other snacks or food items your child loves. Please make sure your child’s items are clearly labeled. If your child has any food allergies, please let the volunteers know!

Questions? Contact Tiffany Wong, our Preschool Coordinator!

ADVENTURERS

KINDERGARTEN – 5TH GRADE

Come ready for lots of fun! Kids learn how to develop godly character and become followers of Jesus Christ through interactive, visual Bible lessons from The Gospel Project. They participate in worship and play fun games that support the lesson. This is the start of an adventure of a lifetime!

We want to help your child have the best experience possible. Here are some easy ways that your child can come prepared for a great time every Sunday:

  • Come prepared for class with a Bible, water bottle, and a trip to the bathroom before class begins. Due to severe food allergies, we ask parents to refrain from bringing snacks into the classroom.

  • Take some time before class to pray with your child that God will meet with them!

  • Participate in worship with your whole body: stand up, dance, lift up hands, sing, jump around, etc. Be free and have fun! During worship the focus should be on God, not talking to your neighbor.

  • Sit still and listen closely to the lesson.

  • Participate in games, skits, and answering questions when asked and respect all of the teachers and helpers who are serving.

SAFETY

Safety is a top priority. To ensure the safety of every child, every volunteer has undergone a background and reference check, training, and an interview with the class coordinator. We desire Renewal Kids to be not only a physically safe place, but an emotionally and spiritually safe haven as well. We commit to speaking to your children with the love of Jesus while they are in our care!

  • We maintain a “two-adult rule” classroom policy. There will be at least two volunteers in a classroom before we will begin accepting children. Once checked in, children will not be allowed to leave the classroom without adult supervision.

  • The children in our care under the age of 6 are always accompanied to the restroom by one of our female adult volunteers.

WELLNESS POLICY

To promote a healthy environment at Renewal Kids, we ask that you keep your child at home when any of the following are observed in your child:

  • Fever equal to or greater than 100

  • Runny nose

  • Questionable rash

  • Productive cough

  • Diarrhea

  • Chicken pox

  • Measles or mumps

  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye)

  • Lice

If a child is being treated with antibiotics for any reason, he or she should receive treatment 24 hours before coming to Renewal Kids. Renewal Kids volunteers are unable to administer medication of any kind to your children. If a child becomes ill, or displays any of the above symptoms while in our care, we will contact you immediately. If a medical situation (beyond a basic first aid kit injury) or illness arises and requires medical attention, you will be notified immediately. If a life-threatening illness or injury occurs, parents and emergency services will be contacted.
